Maria, 34 years old, mother of two children, Cuban. She came to Moscow to work, but ended up in prostitution. We met her during our service trips and left our phone number. And after a while we receive a message from her: “help, I’ve been at the police for two days now, they don’t give me food or water.” We went to see her at the police station. At first the police did not acknowledge that the young woman was there. And when they realized that we were calling and coming, they suddenly agreed that Maria was in their detention cell and allowed them to bring her food and water. The consul was called. The consul said that her detention was illegal, but now she is within the law. We got her to undergo voluntary deportation, that is, she was now allowed to go home to pack her things, she wanted to take them with her, because she has two children at home in Cuba and she did not want to come empty-handed. The pimp and her friend, also Cuban, kept Maria in sexual exploitation and did not give her a salary. Maria was able to buy things for her children with tips that clients gave her. So she worked in prostitution for six months until she ended up with the police. She had no money at all for the return trip, so we bought her a ticket. It was a difficult decision because tickets from Russia to Cuba cost a lot of money. Now she is at home with the children. We testified to her about Christ as best we could, because she doesn’t speak Russian at all and doesn’t know English, and we don’t know Spanish. But we believe that through our help she felt God’s love and care.
Now there are many Cubans in Moscow. This is a poor country and they are looking for where they can make money. And many Cubans and Cuban trannys involved in prostitution appeared on the streets. We give them the four spiritual laws translated into Spanish and pray that a Spanish-speaking person will appear on our team.
